Neck Pain

Spent the night at Miao’s Da Djio (literally big uncle, meaning eldest uncle). Didn’t sleep terribly well as was sleeping in her uncle’s study and felt a little uncomfortable in an unfamiliar space. The meal I had with them the night before was nice, with Shenyang style chicken (tastes like BBQ chicken) of which i was given both legs to eat. There was a pork dish that i like with a sweet red sauce, which i guess was made for me, and a couple other dishes (fish, squid, green pepper and beef). I got to taste the 18 year old whiskey that i bought her uncle, and a couple glasses of beer which was nice.

When I woke up this morning the muscles to the right of my neck were very painful, and i couldn’t turn my head to the right without alot of pain. Miao came and gave me a massage which helped a little, but when Da Djio emerged from his bedroom he showed me some exercises that were very effective (learnt from a lifestyle show on TV which have various experts come on and talk about different subjects). I’m still feeling some pain now, but its a small fraction of what it was.

We will visit Miao’s 3rd Aunt this afternoon and have a meal with her and her family. I tanscoded and burnt a DVD video of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo opera for them as they are very interested in classical music. Their daugther plays the piano very very well, and the father plays the violin and piano. The parents both sing and are interested in choral music. I hope they will like the present, I myself haven’t watched it all the way through yet, and am hoping to see some of it this afternoon.
