Restaurants here often have common areas and private rooms. The only distinction is the size of your party. You can book, but it’s more often the case that you just walk in and ask for a private room. Their is no extra cost for this service, much to my surprise.
Little shops often have areas outside that they spill out onto. One of these shops near our home often keeps a big plastic washing bowl (like the ones you put in the sink) of small quail eggs (turquoise in colour, not sure its quail) on a chair in front of the shop door. I think the owner actually is wanting someone to come along and trip over it, so they have to buy them all.
I’m not sure I’ll get used to these heavy duty security doors that seem to be everywhere. They often sit flush with the outside, so there is nothing to use a crow bar on. I just thought that this one was particularly pretty. Seems an interesting attempt to make a big metal sheet more pretty.
