Last weekend Miao and I went over to Patrick’s house and had a Wine and Cheese Afternoon/Evening/Night. It was quite entertaining albeit expensive. We spent in excess of 250 quai at metro (110 kuai for a couple bottles of wine and a block of cheese) and 76 kuai each on shared items. Some of the cooking efforts were thwarted through unwavering devotion to online recipes (through no fault of myself I may add, who attempted suggest we might take thing out before they start burning).

We did however find a good bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon for under 50 kuai which I thought was quite reasonable. But can’t really compare against 600ml bottle beer for 3 kuai.

Apart from that I got to have a play, sorry, I mean a go on Patrick’s Mac Book Pro. With light up keyboard (when room gets dark) and touchpad gestures. I really wish I had one. I guess I will just have to make do with my extremely powerful desktop computer with huge amounts of ram and hard disk space.
