Recently, I have heard a piece of ridiculous news, 44 Chinese characters are going to be changed. This action, pushed forward by Chinese government, is fatuous, I must say.
Thousands of scholars spent 8 good years to research how to revise the characters we ordinary people used to write. What a useless fag!
However, I should warn these so-called scholars, if you want to make a move of Chinese characters, you should at least weigh the pros and cons!
Firstly, if it means to improve the usage of Chinese characters, why cannot we just start from the way we teach our children? So many years have pass, but our children still cannot write Chinese characters properly, just as they cannot speak English after studied it since they were born. That is the problem of our system of education, not the characters!
Secondly, after the changing of these characters, books, dictionaries, boards, IC cards, and even some people’s ID card is going to be changed. I wonder if these scholars have ever thought about the cost of doing so?
Thirdly, Chinese characters are the tie of union of our nation, 56 peoples may speak in different dialects, but we Chinese only have one type of handwriting way-the simplified Chinese characters! Once changed, I don’t think it will do any benefit to our nation, or to our unity!
That’s my opinion: the revising of 44 Chinese characters is an unbearably fatuous action. I tilt and I fustigate, because as a member of Chinese, I don’t want to see any more unreasonable policy being made by our government!
Chinese characters are the symbol of our nation, please, let them being intact!
