So here I am in the classroom again. Not invigilating this time, but supervising a self-study session as per instructed by the grade one coordinator. I gave the option of going through the final 10 topics of the exam, but they didn’t want it (as they had already seen what I prepared through XiaoNei, the Chinese version of facebook).

Now I’m at another class "Hospitality and Tourism Management", sitting in an empty classroom waiting for my class to turn up. It appears that there is a meeting going on in the classroom opposite. From which my class has just emerged. The instructions I've had from my co-coordinator are that these lessons can be self study or a revision lesson. I gave them the option and they all choose self study. I also told them that if they wanted to go to the toilet, they can , after the second time they understood and about half have disappeared.

The view here isn't half bad, there is no pollution from traffic, although who knows what the local military seaport puts out into the environment. There is a small community of shops here that serve the two big universities close by…  Dalian Medical University and Dawai. There is also a small fish market which sells fresh and dried sea creatures, caught by the nets and fishing boats you can see in the bay. The winter here is more harsh and is a lot more windy than central Dalian.
