And Then There Was Alastair

Nowadays, with the problems bring by high technology or modern wars, someone says that people should be satisfied with everything. However, I believe human beings should always try to get something new or different during our daily life.

There are at least three reasons can support my opinion. First of all, I think the society is propelled by desire in some extent. If our ancestors were satisfied with what they had, we are still wearing the pelt of animals or living in the feudal society. Just because dissatisfaction, people use their hands to find what they need and use their brains to gain what they want. So, desire promotes the society. And for another reason, dissatisfaction impels people to make so many inventions. If Edison were satisfied with the light given by sun, we are still living in the dark world. If Carl Benz were satisfied with the speed in 19 century, we are still walking from here to there. In a word, without dissatisfaction, there won’t be such a various and colorful world. For the last reason, I have to say, for many people a meaningful life cannot leave finding new and different things. Life is too short for us to waste it on self-satisfaction and conservation. If we don’t value it to do some new but meaningful things, that means we miss the most important part of our life.

In summary, though there are some disadvantages, while compared with it, we have to admit it that the desire for new and different is really important. So, I believe dissatisfaction creates our life.
