Student Essay Entitled "Hero"

By a student who calls himself “Austin”:

On November 14th, 2008, Barack Obama, a gentleman who is the only black person from George Washington till now, was successfully elected as the 44th president, succeeded in entering the White House. From then on, another man began to influence the world.

I have paid much attention on Barack Obama, and in my opinion, this gentleman is a real hero. In fact, Bush handed over an awful mess to Obama. For instance, the disastrous financial crisis, the nuclear problem with Iran and North Korea, troops withdrawal from Iraq and all kinds of problems which need tackling as soon as possible. However, all the obstacles did not frighten or threaten him, instead, Obama was calm enough to concentrate all his capabilities to solve one problem and then another. He is so brave that he dares to be responsible for the world’s economy, because he has carried out a series of reforming policies to get the countries out of the financial crisis and take parts in different economic conferences after being the president. As for the troops withdrawal, he used to promise that he had decided to withdraw large numbers of soldiers in the year of 2010. At the same time, he is very active in solving the nuclear problem with Iran and North Korea peacefully but conflicts or economic sanction. I think that the most admiring thing is the speech about racism in Pennsylvania. Directly, he talked about the misunderstanding that American society and politics treat racism and necessity on confronting racism. He neither instigated the black people to be hostile to the white, nor blandished the white people, on the contrary, he insisted on encouraging the black and the white to live in harmony.

Summing up the above, it’s clear that Barack Obama is really a hero, for he contributes a lot to the global development steadily and peacefully, or rather, he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.
