Lesson 10 "Best Of Today" University Education
Posted by Alastair in Uncategorized on November 18, 2009
Dear students of “An Insight Into Britain”,
This weeks lesson will have a similar format to last weeks, in that we will have a discussion. The general theme of the lesson is university education and how it is paid for. Like last week there is some pre class reading. I’d like you to do a little research on this topic, and hope you can find some interesting things to say in class about it. As well as that, there is the usual meaning match task to complete before class so that the listening exercise is maybe a little easier.
Please print the linked pdf, read the first 2 pages, and complete the meaning match exercise on page 3 before the lesson.
- Pre-lesson reading: Should There Be a “Graduates Tax”, Debatabase
- Reading exercise: Road map for universities awaited, BBC
- Listening exercise: The Today Programme 17th March 2009, BBC. (Related News Story)
- Listening MP3.
