Extra Curricular Activities

In 2007 I was living in London, and took part in weekly philosophy classes, weekly voluntary work, and sung in a choir which rehearsed weekly and performed a concert about every 10 weeks. From Feburary 2008 until January 2010 I lived in China. While there I learnt some spoken Mandarin. Most mornings for the summer and winter of 2008 I learnt a traditional form of exercise in a local park from a retired master, at the end of which I had learnt a full routine. For 3 months in early 2009 I learnt a chinese classical instrument and achieved a basic competency. From April 2009 until I left, I made contributions to the planning of and generating content for a local community website, while also developing my own site. Learning photography has been an important feature of my entire stay in China, and have now had a photo published in a book.
