An Insight Into Britain

While in China I taught my very on course about some aspects of Britain. To help my students I made an entry on my blog every week so that they could find more materials, and print off the necessary pages before class. This was an introductory page that I have been keeping on my blog, but feel that It no longer needs to be a fully fledged “Static Page” and can be moved to the lesser status of a “Blog Entry”.

Hello and Welcome. You’ve arrived at my blog and pages for keeping you upto date with my elective course “An Insight Into Britain”.

The format for each lesson will be the same:

  1. Vocab Preparation
  2. Reading Exercise
  3. Vocab Preparation
  4. Listening Exercise
  5. Discussion

The reading exercise will be related to the listening and give you some cultural background. Every week we’ll study a different BBC radio programme and I will put the materials I have used in class onto the following link:

The assessment for this course is in 3 parts:

  1. 300 Word Essay (25%)
  2. Mid-term Exam (25%)
  3. Final Exam (50%)

The essay will be based on something we study in class and the exams will be similar to what we do in class: Vocab, Reading, Vocab, Listening.

Most of my lessons will come from either Radio 2 or 4. So if you want to find out about them and do some practise before the lessons you can follow the links below:
